SouthSideCAN (South Side Community Action Network) is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering community development through an Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach.Our goal is to identify what the South Side community cares deeply about and to empower and support the community to create positive change in achieving these aspirations.
Turning Passion into Action
Our Community Actions Packs & Partnerships are each focused on individual aspects of improving our community. These organically formed groups hold regularly scheduled meetings where they work together to create movement & implement plans for positive change in our neighborhood & business district.

South Side Hospitality Partnership
Uniting safe, integrity-driven & responsible hospitality establishments!
This group of business owners works together with the community & public safety department’s to enhance the safety & vibrancy of the East Carson Street business district.
Safety and
Anti-Violence
Improving safety & reducing violence in the South Side Neighborhood!
As a liaison for residents, bar/business owners & property owners, this group works directly with public safety & city officials to make our neighborhood a safer destination for all.
Unhoused Impact and Outreach
Gaining insights into the unhoused population in our neighborborhood by collaborating with with city & county officials for resources & support.
Litter, Trash
and Beautification
Improving the visual appearance of our neighborhood!
This group is a key player in well-rounded initiatives that improve the visual appearance of our neighborhood including sit ‘n sweeps, block clean-ups, festive décor, art installations & 3D printed disposal holders.

Management
Aims to bring new businesses to East Carson Street by funding & hiring a Business District Manager! Now that funding has been secured & a Business District Manager has been hired, this group will continue to assist the new hire as they work to revitalize & strengthen our commercial district.
